Have you ever felt the weight of expectation on your shoulders? Have you ever had to step-up and fill the shoes of another who’s made the role their own for what feels like a lifetime?

This came to mind in the context of now ex-Manchester United manager David Moyes, of whom much has been said and I won’t add my uninformed tuppence worth.

But while reading about the recent upheaval at Old Trafford, it struck me that an inheritance can sometimes be as difficult to cope with as it is deciding who to pass it onto.
